Transmutations: Deleuze, Hillman, and Alchemical Becomings
A Journey Through Hermetic Deleuze and Alchemical Psychology
Taught by Craig/Sereptie (Acid Horizon, LEPHT HAND)
This course invites artists, thinkers, and visionaries into a crucible where Deleuzian philosophy meets the symbolic fire of alchemical transformation. Drawing from Deleuze’s hermetic resonances—particularly in texts like The Hermetic Deleuze—we explore both the alchemical contours of his concepts and alchemy itself as a catalyst for radical creative experimentation.
In conversation with James Hillman’s Alchemical Psychology, we move through the traditional stages of transformation—nigredo, albedo, citrinitas, rubedo, and the spectral hues in between—not as linear phases, but both conceptual thresholds shades of becoming or differential processes.
We’ll examine how symbols traverse the personal psyche and group phantasy, becoming images of individuation and shared fabulation. This course offers a rich entry point for those encountering alchemy for the first time, while engaging deeply with Deleuze’s analytic of concepts. Transmutations is a space for artists and thinkers seeking to dissolve the boundaries between theory and poetics, and to reforge imagination as a site of philosophical and aesthetic transmutation.
The course is taught by Craig/Sereptie, host of Acid Horizon and founder of LEPHT HAND, whose work bridges continental philosophy, mysticism, and creative experimentation. He is the creator of The Philosopher’s Tarot, the Acéphalous: The Erotic Tarot of Georges Bataille, and Vintagia: I Ching Oracle for Psychogeography and Creative Discovery.
